Monday Motivation :)

Should have named this post 'inspiration monday'

This is the man that inspires me...

Being an 'emotional type' myself... i am often 'all over the page'...and...

i need a firm but gently hand...to steady me :)

This man is both of those and SO much more...

He is...loving...thoughtful...unselfish...

calm...clever...honest...hardworking...strong...funny...not only a 'thinker' but a 'doer' too...

he makes a plan and gets the job done...he is more patient than i and i am rather patient... he keeps his word to one and all...he does not demand respect but he does earn it...and he will help others where he can...but he is not a push-over...although i do think he would do anything for me :) ...he knows the meaning of commitment...and shows the kids and i every day how much he values us...helping each one of us roll the boulders off our path...he is busy at work...busy at home...he has amazing energy and stamina...he will run circles around most men...no job is ever too big or too small... in short we all know he is ... 'there for us'... 100%

encouraging...[scolding sometimes]... trying to motivate us wayward ones...

This weekend was no different...and as we got on with life...he moved swiftly and uncomplainingly...

  from one chore to the next and then some...and i had a moment of feeling...

yes inspired...

 Edwin is an answer to prayers i said as a teenager...long before i met him...

Just before bedtime i used to go outside [because in nature is where i feel closest to God]

I would take a slow stroll down to the gate at the bottom of a long pathway...

 and pray... not only about my future husband but also for him...

that he would know God and be one of the 'good guys'...

  And then one day... out of the blue...

he was in my life...and i am SO grateful :)

I hope you all have someone who inspires you to be the best you...

Monday Motivation :)

My 14 year old son Brandon cleaned his room...i know ! i was shocked too :)

and passed on his rather battered chess set to Bradley...

And Bradley just about threw himself into learning to play...!

I was reminded that we [adults] need to keep learning too...

growing...

or face stagnation ...

Storms-winds will blow... and die down...

they always do...

Take advice...

not all will give 'good' advice...

remember that...use good judgement... 

Help is at hand...

Sometimes u just have to wait...

be patient...

Know when to 'let go'...and

'walk away'...run if u must...

Keep good company...

it will save your life...

Make a honest plan...and

GO FOR IT...

never loose your passion...

Find and use your God given talents...

Unfortunately...

there will always be 'crabs'...

those who hurt you...

be the better person :)

this was one day at the beach with my kids...

the boys took my breath away...with their passion and energy...

 and oh what is the word i am searching for...

their unselfconscious manner... inspiration among the waves ...

i want to live my life like this...

These boys...with their waywardness... 

Will...in their own time... take their rightful place next to their Dad...

Watching the 'men' in my life standing like this...

The little lie...she told...

They stood close together...off to one side... talking ...

plotting their new course... 

He asked.... 'Are you sure you will be ok when... the bell rings...?'

his voice was filled with concern...his brown eyes sought hers out...as was his habit...

She felt her heart drop uncomfortably to the pit of her stomach...
at his question... as the little lie left her lips...

'Yes, i am sure...' she smiled too...for good measure...

 a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes...

because... they had become moist...damn !

There was a cool breeze on that late Summers morning...

and a weak watered-down kind of sunshine surrounded them...

She couldn't help but notice...the halo it caused...

as the hairs on his head were stirred to life...

candescent strands floated up... and then... came to rest again...

her photographer's eye noticed...all of this...as was her habit...

Listening with her heart...

She heard what he did not say... 'I am not ready yet Mommy...'

So she stood...

 where she always stands...

I have time... and it belongs to you...

Monday Motivation...

Dragonfly Life Lessons

Pretty hey...

I was sitting on the 'stoep'  aka veranda...deck...

my 'eye' traveled over the still waters [of the pool] then in the shallows...

 movement...something was DROWNING...

and...

 FIGHTING...

I jumped up to help... clumsily fishing it out with my teaspoon...

the dragonfly was EXHAUSTED... and rather wet...

and i wondered if i had got there in time...

The photographer in me kicked in...and i ran into the house like a mad thing :)

 to fetch my camera...

[yes my family do think i am delightfully strange - are we not all so..?.]

Poor thing was still there when i got back...

and i could take a few shots [plenty actually]

This was a rare opportunity to do so...have u ever tried to capture 'one' in glorious flight...

not easy is all i have for u.... 

a closer look...revealed...

 Upon getting a closer look at her i noticed her one wing had the tip torn off...

and i understood how it is that she fell into the water in the first place...

i now held very little hope for her RECOVERY...

As i was loosing faith...

Suddenly she was...

 READY TO TRY AGAIN

and with a flash and flutter of her wings ...

off she went...

I had no way of 'telling' her i didn't fancy her chances...

and she didn't 'tell' herself that either...

We all get 'torn' in this thing we call life...

we 'over-think' things sometimes... and listen to the 'noise' of others...

bringing on the doubt...

when all we really need to do is...

REST & RECOVER...LEARN something...and

JUST TRY AGAIN

:)
